At Converge MidAmerica we are serious about church health! The ongoing health of our churches both old and new alike is one of our chief concerns. Healthy churches + Healthy Leaders = Lives being transformed. I am proud to announce that through the generosity and faithful support from the churches of Converge MidAmerica we were able to secure Dick Loizeaux as our Director of Church Health.
Dick brings to this position 30 years experience of church leadership in the Chicagoland area and a Master’s degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
Dick says embracing this opportunity to serve is “Phase 3” of his ministry. Phase One was an eight year business career in marketing and strategic planning. In 1985 Dick resigned his position as an executive for a Fortune 500 company in order to help plant a church in the northwest suburbs. For the next 18 years (Phase Two) he was Senior Pastor as the church grew from birth to average attendance of 1000, with 8 full time ministry staff, a 17-acre campus, and over 100 people a year being baptized.
Eight years ago Dick felt called to harness his unique blend of church and business leadership experience to help local churches achieve higher levels of spiritual health and outreach growth. Through a combination of consulting, intentional interim pastoring, seminars, and coaching, Dick has served over fifteen churches in three states. During that time Dick has interim pastored or consulted for ten Converge churches and served on the Converge MidAmerica Board of Overseers.
Dick coaches pastors in the areas of spiritual health, conflict resolution, problem solving, vision and values clarification, strategic planning, congregational assessment, governing structure review, and operational analysis. He will be assisting us in establishing a Church Health Task Force, conducting seminars, and strengthening Coaching Groups. He will continue to provide intentional interim pastoring for Converge churches as necessary.
Dick and Nancy have been married 41 years. They have four children and twelve grandchildren. He is excited for this opportunity to join Jim Lacy (Director of Church Health in Michigan) and myself as we seek to better serve our pastors and churches as we all move forward in God’s redemptive mission.
