Converge MidAmerica Latino Christmas

By Gary Rohrmayer

About 750 people attended the December 6th Converge MidAmerica Latino Christmas gathering, “Gloriosa Salvacion,” at Moraine Valley Church, Palos Heights, Illinois. Worship leaders and team members from several Hispanic churches led the crowd in worship both in Spanish and English.  Each church was encouraged to bring their children’s choir or to have someone from their church perform special music in representing their local church.  There were seven churches that sent their children’s choir and 4 others who sent a soloist who were exceptional.

I was honored to be able to bring the message that evening through translation and was very humbled when all the pastors from each church gathered around me to pray for me and my leadership through out our district ministry.

Another special highlight that was the commissioning of Abram and Christina Delegado as they stepped out by faith to plant a new Hispanic congregation in Round Lake, IL called Casa de Oracion.  Also, that evening a special offering was received to bless their ministry with over $1000.00 raised with Converge MidAmerica matching dollar for dollar.

Words cannot express how grateful I am for the leadership of  Pastor Jessy and Marilou Padilla and Pastor Nepthali and Shirley Mullings as they minister and coordinate our growing number of first and second generation Hispanic churches throughout Converge MidAmerica.  If your church would like to put our Hispanic ministry in your mission budget, it would help us in starting, strengthening and expanding our ministry to the fastest growing group in our region.
