Round Lake Initiative

By Katie Nelson

Casa de Oración (House of Prayer) is a Spanish speaking church plant for first generation Hispanic immigrants in Round Lake, IL. Casa de Oración’s objective is helping people return to their original design in their identity as children of God, through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, His Word and His Church.

Casa de Oración is led by Pastor Abram Delgado, who has been married for 14 years with his wife Cristina and has two daughters, Hannah and Miah.

Abram worked as a Youth Pastor and later an Assistant Pastor for 10 years in Mexico, where he also studied music and finished his bachelors in Theology.

The Delgado family came to the United States in the year 2009, where Abram worked as an Associate Pastor and Worship Pastor in Iglesia Emanuel, Waukegan IL. During this time he was also part of the launch team for the first three years of the Converge church plant Casa de Vida in McHenry, IL.

“The critical situation of Hispanic families in the United States has deeply touched our hearts. It has impacted us to the point of having the conviction of starting a new adventure: planting a Spanish speaking church with programs in English for the kids and youth in the Round Lake Area, which consists of more than 55% Hispanic families. There is also a significant Hispanic population in the surrounding cities, including Fox Lake, Hainesville and Ingleside. We believe that we can make a difference, starting by reaching families for their restoration in Christ.” – Abram Delgado
