Hispanic Ministries

Through prayer and a shared financial commitment from our Hispanic Churches we have two part time Hispanic Ministires staff. We are pleased to present Pastor Jessy Padilla as the Director of Hispanic Ministries and Nephtali Mullings as Director of Pastoral Care to Hispanic Churches.

Jessy has agreed to give focused time and leadership beyond his pastoral duties to the training of pastors and lay leaders as well as the recruitment of church planters.  Jessy is a strong leader and excellent pastor, as well as a successful church planter.  He has a dream to impact Hispanic leaders. He helped design and implement the Ignite program, a lay leadership process designed to identify future leaders in the harvest. Jessy has been happily married for 21 years to his lovely wife Marilu. Together they have two teenage boys.

Veteran Pastor Nepthali Mullings has been asked to join his team to provide pastoral care, consulting and coaching to our Hispanic pastors and leaders.  Pastor Mullings was born in Honduras, Central America, graduated from Seminario Biblico Hispano.  Married  to Shirley Mullings for thirty-eight years, they have three daughters and are proud grandparents to six grandchildren. In 1986, he cofounded Iglesia El Calvario that met at his house for several months until Calvary Baptist Church (Evanston) shared their building with them.  The congregation later moved to Edgewater Baptist in Chicago where he pastored until 1998.  In 1999, he was called to pastor Iglesia Betania and served until 2006. In 2006, he moved to Honduras and pastored Iglesia Ebenezer until 2010. In 2012, he was appointed senior pastor at Casa de Vida, McHenry, IL  a church plant of Iglesia Imanuel in Waukegan, IL.

Both of these leaders have proven track records of ministering beyond the local church and we look forward to see how God is going to use them in encouraging our churches and expanding our ministry among Latinos in our region.

Jesus said, “Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest”.  John 4:35
